Are you worried that you may not land the best college out of the thousands of available options? Well, you are not alone. It is not easy to figure out which college is right for you.

You can probably find happiness and success at several colleges. However, before identifying the one that is best suited for you, you should plan accordingly and research your options.

In a prior blog, we wrote about select tips for finding the right college.  Today, we are going to expand on those suggestions.  Let’s take a look at some new tips you should pay attention to when looking for a college.

Narrow down your list

There are thousands of colleges in the United States. It would be best to narrow down to a few to make work easier. There are factors such as accessibility that you should have in mind when coming up with such a list. You don’t want to shortlist an art college when you are interested in a science-related course.

You need to weigh the pros and cons of every institution and rank your priorities. Consider what you want from the institution of your choice since you will likely spend a considerable amount of time there for the next four years.

When using Isuriz, you can filter colleges based on a number of preferences, and review school profiles to help you find the right college for you.  Also, there is the ability to see the estimated chances of acceptance so that you can evaluate the probability of being admitted.

Be aware of application deadlines

Once you have ranked your priorities, and determined your college list, you should get started with the application process, and understand the deadlines.  There can be different deadlines for early decision versus early action versus regular admission.  Also, there could be a rolling admission.  So, it is important to understand each of the deadlines and the implications for each one.

Take school visits, if possible.

While Covid-19 may impact your ability to visit schools, it is helpful to see a school first hand.  A college tour may give you an idea of campus life, the culture or spirit of the school, transportation issues and you can possibly hear from students and admissions representatives to name a few examples. If you are unable to tour the school in-person, a virtual tour might be option.
